About Prime Volt

Judged on what you can check

Most solar companies will tell you they're the best. Very few will tell you what happens in week three, when the grid application is still sitting with the network operator and nobody's returning your calls.

Our own crews do the install. Our quotes show the assumptions behind every number. And if your roof isn't worth doing, we'll say so before you've spent anything.

Four services. One accredited team.

The crew on your roof are our employees. We don't subcontract the part that matters.

01 Modern home with a rooftop solar array

Residential solar

Systems from 6.6kW to 13.2kW, sized around how your household actually uses power.

Three parts. No weak link.

A system is only as good as its worst component, so we keep the list short and the warranties in writing.

Solar panels

Tier-one panels with a 25-year performance warranty. We fit a short list we’d put on our own roofs.

Savings shown are estimates, not guarantees. They assume typical daytime usage, a [X]c/kWh import rate, a [Y]c/kWh feed-in tariff and average annual sun hours for your postcode at a 0.8 performance ratio. We model your real numbers from your actual bill before you commit to anything.

What else we take on

Beyond a standard rooftop install

Retrofit & upgrades

Add to an existing array, replace a failed inverter, or take on a system another company walked away from.

Three-phase & commercial

20kW to 100kW+, modelled against your load profile and export limits before we quote a panel.

Remote & off-grid

Properties the network won't reach, sized on your real load with storage to match.

Why choose us

Three things you can check

Our own crews

Every installer on your roof is on our payroll and holds our accreditation. Much of the industry runs on day labour.

Numbers with the maths shown

Every savings figure comes with its assumptions written down: sun hours, your tariff, your usage pattern.

Paperwork we chase

Grid pre-approval and the meter change stall most installs. We manage both and tell you where it is up to.

FAQs

The questions everyone asks us

Straight answers, including the ones that don't help us sell.

It depends on how much power you use in daylight hours. Self-consumption is worth roughly three to four times what exporting is, so a household that's home during the day saves considerably more. On a 10kW system most of our customers land in the $1,800–$2,400 a year range — but we model your actual bill before you commit, and if the numbers don't work we'll tell you.

Design, panels, inverter, mounting, all electrical work, the grid application and compliance sign-off. Occasional extras — a switchboard upgrade, difficult roof access, a three-phase meter — are identified at the site assessment and quoted before we start. Never added afterwards.

Every system under 100kW generates federal certificates based on capacity and location. We claim these and the value is already deducted from the prices shown. State and territory programs vary and change often — we check what applies to your postcode at quote stage. [Current scheme names and amounts to be confirmed.]

The install is usually one day. Around it: 2–4 weeks for grid pre-approval, then the install, then your retailer reconfigures the meter. That last step is outside our control and is the one that occasionally drags — we chase it weekly and keep you updated rather than leaving you to wonder.

At night you draw from the grid unless you have a battery. On cloudy days output drops but doesn't stop — systems are sized on an annual average, not a best-case day. Solar alone doesn't take you off-grid, and any installer implying otherwise is overselling.

The panels we install carry a [X]-year product warranty and a 25-year performance warranty guaranteeing a minimum retained output. Inverters are typically [Y] years, and our workmanship warranty is [Z] years on top. Panels generally keep producing well past warranty at gradually reduced output.

The system stays with the property and manufacturer warranties transfer to the new owner. A paid-off system with a documented generation history is a genuine selling point — we'll give you the monitoring records to hand over.

No. The crew on your roof are our employees and hold our accreditation. Much of the industry runs on day labour, which is where most of the horror stories start. Ask for the installer's accreditation number before the job and we'll give it to you.
